Join HWLRG Research Fellow, Dr Daniel Griffith and Director (HWLRG) Professor Alex Collie as they presents findings from the first Australian study to describe transitions to Centrelink after workers’ compensation benefits stop.
In this seminar Professor Alex Collie and Dr Daniel Griffiths from the Healthy Working Lives Research Group at Monash University will present findings from the first Australian study to describe transitions to Centrelink after workers’ compensation benefits stop. While many people quickly recover and return to work following a workers’ compensation claim, some remain unable to work for several years – even after compensation stops. We will describe the impacts of a 5-year compensation limit, introduced in the NSW Workers’ Compensation scheme, which left several thousand injured workers without an income (on Christmas day.)
